Adopted ! Libby is a petite girl who weighs only 25 lbs. When she first arrived, she was very fearful, but has made great strides and is beginning to trust humans and enjoy life. Libby is house trained using a doggie door. She is good when left loose during the day, but she sometimes barks outside at night so she sleeps in a crate … happy to go to bed for a cookie! She LOVES to play with other dogs and is just recently starting to play with toys on her own, she'll even play tug with me.
Libby would do best in a home with another playful and friendly dog to keep her busy and give her continued confidence. She walks well on a leash, knows sit, and will wait for her food until told she can eat. She even has her Canine Good Citizen certificate!
She does still get nervous and sometimes drools in the car, but is getting better all the time. She will do most anything for a food reward and loves to chew bones. Libby comes when called most of the time, but resists being picked up by curling into a little ball.
Care must be taken as Libby will still sometimes run in scary situations. She's getting much better as she gains trust of humans but any new home will need to be very cautious that she doesn’t get loose, as she would likely be very difficult to catch. New people and situations will require patience for this sweet girl. . though food is a great motivator for her!
NEWS FLASH: Libby loves to herd sheep! She's done it three times now and thinks its the best fun!
