About Me
ADOPTION PENDING. Emma is a super sweet 1 year old border collie (possible mix?). She is very good with other dogs and is learning to play with them. Emma's experience being in the shelter brought out her shyness and her foster home has been working hard on her socialization. Emma is still progressing well. She is starting to seek out attention from strangers, of course it helps if they have treats. She is totally comfortable in her foster home and no longer needs to be crated. She has turned into a really nice companion for the resident dog in her foster home. She loves to play tag and tug-a-war. Emma is becoming more confident each day and we feel she could live in a home with another dog or as an only dog. She seems more trusting with women, but has adjusted great to her foster dad. She has learned to walked nicely on leash. She is housebroken and crate trained. Emma is fine with cats. She has learned sit, stay, give paw and down. She is a fast learner and very food motivated. The perfect home for Emma would be a quieter home with someone willing to work on her socialization. She would do best with in a home with another canine. Emma is still very much a puppy and needs to be crated if left alone for any long periods of time. More as we get to know her better.

How the AZBCR Found Me
Emma came to us from the Westside Maricopa County Shelter where she arrived as a stray (with two other dogs). We were told they were brought in as dogs running loose on someone's property where they were never socialized or even touched. Just had food set out for them. Apparently, the people were tired of feeding them and turned them in to the shelter. All three were deemed unadoptable (due to lack of socialization and overall fear) but we are working hard on those issues and they are coming along very nicely.
