| About Me |
| Wilson is a handsome 2-3 year old border collie, black and white -a white speckled muzzle, white socks, ruff and tip of his tail. Wilson is a very goofy and fun-loving boy who originally came into rescue from Animal Control in Tucson. He was a very very sick boy who had pneumonia and was severely underweight. He has recovered fully from his pneumonia and is putting weight on nicely. Wilson came to rescue with pretty much no training but his foster mom says he is coming along well, learning house manners and how to play well with others. He is crate trained and housebroken and seems to ignore the cats in the house.
He loves to play and is learning to retrieve a ball. He also enjoys playing with the other dogs in the house, and he is doing MUCH better about giving it up. He loves chewies and also adores pulling the stuffing out of toys. He is starting to settle in more and more and has become a snuggler. As Wilson has settled in, however, his strong personality has started to emerge. He needs a leader who will not let things "slide" and who is not intimidated by Wilson's somewhat bossy demeanor. He objects when other dogs or sometimes people get too close to "his things". His foster mom is not impressed by these displays and is working on teaching him that it's not ok. Any new home will need to be willing to continue his training. This is not difficult, just requires consistency. Wilson will be a good boy and a wonderful, fun companion with an adopter who provides structure for him. |
